CrashPlan/Code42

CrashPlan is a secure, cloud-based automatic data backup and recovery service designed for businesses and individuals to protect files from ransomware, accidental deletion, or hardware failure.

HMS CrashPlan (local accounts)

Laptop and desktop systems at HMS must be backed up up with Code42 CrashPlan through HMS IT Here

Setup

After launching the CrashPlan/Code42 application, click the lower blue link Sign up for an account.

Note: All systems you must use the Sign up for an account link to add your system to the SBGrid group using the regristration code below.

Username: Your HMS email address Password: Enter your HMS email password

Server URL: mybackup.med.harvard.edu

SBGrid registration code: JJRR-RHW7-UHJW-H7JM

After you have installed Crashplan let is know you activated your backups (or had issues doing so) and the email address you used help@sbgrid.org

DFCI CrashPlan

All DFCI iMac workstations should have CrashPlan/Code42 already installed on them, if yours does not for some reason please contact us and we will come by and install the proper packages.

After launching the CrashPlan/Code42 application, click the lower blue link Sign In.

Username: Your DFCI email address Password: Enter your DFCI email password

It should sign you in automatically, if it does not recognize your account please contact us.
